DanceWorks & Co. is more than a teen dance company — it is a performance-based training ground where young artists grow not only as dancers, but as individuals.
Under the direction of Kathy Costa McKeown, Founder and Artistic Director of DanceWorks Studios, the company is grounded in a philosophy that emphasizes excellence in dance education, performance, emotional resilience, and self-respect over external competition.

With over 25 years of experience, Kathy brings advanced training in dance anatomy, technique, and somatic awareness, ensuring dancers develop strong, healthy movement foundations. But her focus extends beyond physical skill as company members are challenged artistically and supported emotionally, learning lessons in teamwork, discipline, creative risk-taking, and leadership that carry far beyond the stage.

How to Join​
Membership in DanceWorks & Co. is by audition only and requires a minimum of three years of ballet, modern, and jazz training. Company members train in ballet, modern, pointe, jazz, tap, hip hop, and choreography, with opportunities to work with professional guest choreographers and develop their own original works.
Where We Perform
While DanceWorks & Co. does not compete, our dancers perform regularly in professional, community, and international venues, offering real-world experience in front of diverse audiences. From major performance halls to fundraisers, outdoor festivals, and senior homes, dancers learn to adapt, connect, and shine in every setting.
